Clients

Although it’s our job to talk about what we do, sometimes it’s the insights and opinions of our clients that pinpoint things we don’t even realise we do. So don’t just take our word for it –here’s what some of our lovely clients think…

Baltic Creative CIC has worked with Wordscape on a variety of projects over the past few years including a full review of our website copy, content and structure; developing a new package of consultancy services; helping us to redefine our brand messaging and articulate our unique business model and journey of growth over the past ten years. Their extensive knowledge of international creative hubs and experience working with other social enterprises/ third sector businesses has proved invaluable, allowing us to reflect on our own core values and objectives. We have always found Fiona, Andrew and the team to be thoughtful, diligent and creative in their approach to planning and delivery. They are a pleasure to work with and we would be happy to recommend their services!

In the past I’ve been unconvinced by long term agency relationships. People always say you need to keep mixing it up to keep the team on their toes, but working with Wordscape has shown that with the right agency it actually just gets better. I love working alongside them, I feel they are genuinely as invested in our success as we are, and they are absolutely there for us no matter what. They are intuitive, always a step ahead, totally organised, cope with all my random deadlines and come back to me with a better version of what I had in my head. They have been amazing during the major communication works we have had to do for our students and applicants during the Coronavirus crisis and have worked quickly, calmly, remotely and produced fabulous stuff as always. I don’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for marketing support.

We asked Wordscape to help us design the launch of Beautiful Ideas Co. They did more than that – Wordscape delivered a movement. Local people with ideas fast became a community of entrepreneurs, collaborators and mischief makers. Wordscape invested their belief in possibilities encouraging people to move in, test it out, share it round, take a punt and make some money. And that’s what happened.

We have been absolutely delighted with the results of working with Fiona and the Wordscape team on ‘Culture Means Business’, the cultural directory for Liverpool businesses. We needed help with all aspects of the creation of a physical book, plus someone who could collate and make sense of vast amounts of data from many sources and produce a design which would appeal to both corporates and creatives. They delivered on all counts and I would not hesitate to recommend their services.

We’ve really enjoyed working with Wordscape. Doing our branding was a genuinely co-operative piece of working that didn’t actually feel like working at all. More a process of enquiry and dialogue, where no one got precious about being ‘the creative’ and a strong, original and versatile brand emerged. The copywriting we then asked Wordscape to do for us, to launch our website and generally describe our Coming home idea, was essential. As the founders of our new enterprise we decided we were both far too close to it to be objective in describing it to the people we wanted to work with. So Wordscape’s word skills have been more than valuable and will no doubt continue to be as our venture develops.

We have both valued and enjoyed working with Wordscape. They have managed our website and digital presence for almost ten years, and worked with us to publish our training resources and workbooks over the last eight. The team always provides excellent editing and design facilities, which has led to us gaining a reputation for good quality and well-designed products, that have been sold in over 15 countries.

We’re really pleased with our new Cultural Directory ‘Culture Means Business’. Wordscape did a great job in project managing the publication, from sourcing the text to editing, formatting and liaising with the designers and printing. They made life easy for us on a tricky and involved project.

We’ve worked with Fiona on several cooking/ lifestyle books, and she has provided a number of key disciplines that enabled us to produce work of real quality. She has lent us project management skills, creating the project structure, designing the timetables and making sure all involved understood and delivered to their roles – and on time. she has guided us and provided insight when necessary and is always available to advise on and improve the smallest of detail, whilst remaining focussed on the overall quality of the larger project. Fiona is a very honest and solid broker, able to be decisive and conciliatory in the correct measures – it is a skill.I find Fiona’s experience and knowledge a real support – I trust her and I trust her judgement. This year, we have another book planned and i have no doubts about working with Fiona again – I think that says it all.

Fiona has worked with us as a web editor, copy writer and proof reader for a number of years working on projects ranging from the Beatles Story to tourism marketing for the 2012 Olympics. Due to the nature of our client base it is essential that items are delivered on time, focussing on attention to detail and representing the different client’s tone of voice. Fiona has always worked quickly and superbly, her web copy has assisted the development of a number of our clients’ web ratings and she now proofs all items of print before delivery, due to her diligence in spotting errors!

Fiona has carried out a number of projects for me, both writing and editing copy for my own website and for clients. She has a knack for integrating key search terms into friendly, accessible copy and a good understanding of the needs of web copy coupled with the technical requirements of search engine optimisation. She’s also been very useful in guiding us towards developing a house style and created style guides for us to ensure our message is clear, consistent and considered.

LCVS published our first book Rooted in the City with the assistance of Fiona. She has been a delight to work with very knowledgeable, honest and dependable. A critical friend, Fiona’s expertise and knowledge has been so valuable to us, she got involved in every part of the process and led us expertly along the path of publishing. We are delighted with the quality of the book that was produced and the process was much more affordable than we had anticipated. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fiona and Wordscape should you be embarking on publishing you own book!

Working on the culturepool book with Fiona was an absolute pleasure. Starting with only an idea, it was Fiona’s approachable manner, commitment and expertise that inspired us to make it happen. Fiona’s excellent management of the process and her regular communication instilled us with confidence, which made the whole project an enjoyable one. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fiona.

Fiona and I worked together on the book and website for Being Sarah, a true story of choice, control and breast cancer. every minute of working with Fiona has been a total delight. The end product, the book, has totally exceeded my expectations. She is wise and thoughtful. She is thorough, meticulous – and no-one I know can spell as well as her! Her editing suggestions were very well observed, and made with great sensitivity and respect for my words. Fiona also wrote the words for the website. She completely distilled the essence of the book in a way that promotes it strongly and clearly. Fiona has also been able to find me great people to work with on design and marketing and pr, so becoming an all round great resource for the book project.

And now when I think of this book, which was ‘my’ book, it’s become ‘our’ book, because it is a better book thanks to everything Fiona has contributed to it. Couldn’t have found anyone else better to work with on this project. Brilliant.

I’ve worked with Fiona as the publisher/editor of my HR book, Happy Working Relationships. Quite apart from her extensive technical publishing knowledge, she is an excellent, well organised project manager who kept the book to time and was always able to make constructive and positive suggestions both in its production and marketing. Even if you’re not planning to write a book, but need someone with copy writing or editing skills (for a brochure or website for example) I would certainly recommend contacting Fiona. I hope to have the opportunity to work with her again in the future.

Fiona is an excellent copywriter whom we’ve worked with several times over the past two years. We first hired her to help produce our Letterpool book, which ended up winning a couple of national awards. She helped us produce Letterpool to the highest standards, against a tight deadline, through effective project management and invaluable advice. Her creative copywriting transformed Letterpool from a five minute coffee table flick to a highly readable picture of contemporary Liverpool and I’ve no doubt Fiona’s invaluable input contributed to its success. We’ve hired Fiona since for web-based projects and were equally thrilled with the results. Her SEO consideration certainly helped speed things up compared with other writers we’ve worked with before. RECOMMENDED!

Following a referral from Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services, the Chamber approached Wordscape to discuss our requirements for the book. Being unaccustomed to publishing academic works, we were extremely impressed with the level of knowledge and expertise Fiona provided and the subsequent support she provided in the subsequent months through to final publication was invaluable. We were delighted with the level of professionalism and ease with which Wordscape handled the project and the flexibility and personal attention displayed by Fiona in meeting with us when required and maintaining an excellent level of communication throughout. We were never in any doubt of the book’s progress and the final production of the book was fantastic and far exceeded our expectations of aesthetic quality.

Fiona and I have worked together for over ten years, on a range of publishing and journalistic projects. Our last venture was Go Superlambananas: the book, which we devised and pushed forward together, making it the fastest-selling local book in Liverpool’s history, selling 6,000 copies in just 12 days. She’s hard working, reliable and well motivated and I have no doubt that we’ll continue to work successfully together for many years to come.
